How does Specialised Kinesiology work?

The human body is naturally a self-healing and self-regulating system and is designed to be in balance on all levels (physically, mentally, emotionally).

Specialised Kinesiology is a very gentle, non-invasive, yet powerful therapy, and at its core is the fact that the human body has its own innate healing ability – but it is not always able to access this ability. The main aim of Specialized Kinesiology is to assist the body in being better able to recuperate itself and be more in balance.

Sometimes, however, we find ourselves in a state of “dis-stress” or “dis-ease” – either physically, mentally or emotionally. This is our body’s way of indicating that we have gone “off track”. Symptoms are our body’s way of communicating to let us know that we are “off track”, not living to our full potential, or not coping in one or more aspects or areas of our life.

Kinesiology offers a very powerful means to re-balance ourselves by allowing us to identify and balance the underlying cause of a complaint rather than just treating or suppressing the symptoms. Kinesiology looks at the whole person in order to find out what is behind the symptoms.

A Kinesiologist uses various balancing techniques and protocols such as light touch or pressure to specific points or reflexes to re-establish balance and activate the body’s intrinsic healing process so that the body can recuperate itself more quickly and effectively. It does not diagnose, nor does it focus on suppressing symptoms.

Kinesiology is a holistic healing modality that complements professional healthcare. It can help speed up recovery and improve quality of life.

Frequently asked questions:

No-one can “cure” anyone else. If you cut your finger, you can put a plaster on it but your body heals the cut, and if you break a bone, a doctor can set it, but he does not heal it – you do …. and so as Kinesiologists we do not “heal” or “cure” but work to re-establish balance so that you can heal more effectively and improve your quality of life.
The number of sessions depends on each individual and their given focus or situation. Most people will notice improvement after one to three visits, but we cannot determine how many sessions in total will be needed.
This depends on the individual and their circumstances. There is one certainty in life and that is change! Whilst we are living we are constantly presented with stressors, and how long we remain in balance depends on our genetic make-up and our ability to adapt to change appropriately. If you drive your car like a race car in the wind, it surely needs re-fuelling more often. A Kinesiologist can identify and address what is causing your “di-stress” and this in turn will help your body to adapt more appropriately with the stress.

We do not diagnose or prescribe medication, nor do we “take you off” your medication. You would consult your medical doctor for that.

Most certainly not. Kinesiologists are not religious leaders – they are facilitators whose aim is to assist you for your highest good. We work within the realm of your belief system and not our own.
