LOUISE GELDENHUYS

I have been practicing kinesiology since 2001. I went for a kinesiology session in 2000, was fascinated and intrigued by the process and the results, and decided to do the TFH workshops “just for interest sake”. Well, one thing led to another, my whole life changed and I am now a full time kinesiologist and instructor. I have over 1000 workshop hours under my belt, and have studied the following schools of kinesiology: Neuro-Training, Touch for Health, Three-in-One Concepts, Neural Organization Techniques, Professional Kinesiology Practice, Kinesiology Centre Natal, Integrated Healing and am continually updating my knowledge by attending new workshops and updates. I am registered with the Association of Specilaised Kinesiologists South Africa (ASKSA).

I have been an active member of the ASKSA since 2001, serving on the National Committee as secretary, treasurer and chairperson for the Gauteng branch. I decided in 2008 to take a break from committee work. I was also chairperson of the Natural Health Teachers Services executive committee (Gauteng) and serve on the committee for the Hurlingham Manor residents' association.

I bought a small farm in the  Mpumalanga highlands in 2009 and try to spend a week a month there. I have a growing herd of 17 alpacas (see some pics on the gallery page), and have planted pecans, chestnuts and pomegranates orchards. I also planted a small mixed fruit orchards for the house and have an organic veggie garden going. I am slowly converting to more green power on the farm. My hope is one day to be completely self-sustaining. One of my goals for 2011 is to learn how to spin my homegrown yarn!  I am currently working with my neighbours and the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Board to get the area around the farm declared a Protected Environment.

I am also involved with Be Retreats (www.beretreats.co.za) and host some of the workshops on my farm. However, I had to 'retire' from being actively involved in running the retreats as I simply don't have enough time.

My other passion is travel. You can see some photos from my recent trips on the gallery page. This year in April/May I am planning a trip on the Trans-Siberian express from Beijing to St. Petersburg. For 11.11.11 I am doing a trip to Mexico and Guatemalo to see the Mayan temples.
